Drug Bust in Balsahan-Bisita, Kawit Nets Suspected Pusher

In a late-night operation on Friday, Philippine law enforcement arrested a suspected drug dealer in Kawit, Cavite, as part of the country’s intensifying war on drugs.

The operation, conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in the apprehension of an individual known only as “Toto” around 10 PM local time.

According to police reports, the suspect was caught selling what authorities believe to be methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balsahan-Bisita.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D. Corpuz, Chief of Police in Kawit, stated that this arrest is part of their “untiring efforts and campaign against all forms of criminality.” The operation falls under the broader national initiative dubbed “Bagong Pilipinas” or “New Philippines.”

The suspect is currently in custody and faces charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This latest arrest underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Philippine authorities in their efforts to combat the illegal drug trade.

The Kawit police department has pledged to maintain its aggressive stance against crime, aiming to prevent and eradicate criminal activities in Kawit.
