A police officer was injured during an armed confrontation in Dasmariñas, Cavite, with a suspect who was later apprehended in a rapid response operation.
The suspect, known as “Mensuari”, 43, a vendor from Imus City, Cavite, allegedly opened fire on the Special Drug Education Unit (SDEU) team during an anti-illegal gambling operation, wounding PSSg Granado.
Following the incident, a coordinated pursuit involving Dasmariñas CCPS intelligence and SWAT personnel, along with local officials, led to Mensuari’s arrest. Both the injured officer and the suspect, who also sustained a gunshot wound, are now in stable condition in hospital.
Regional Director PBGEN Paul Kenneth Lucas of PRO4A commended the swift action of the Cavite Police and Dasmariñas CCPS, which resulted in the suspect’s immediate arrest without further casualties.
PCOL Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr., PD Cavite PPO, reiterated the ongoing intensified campaign against all forms of criminality in Cavite, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation for ensuring public safety.
