The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IV-A, in partnership with De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, has officially launched the Free Executive Program in Sustainable Barangay Leadership and Governance (BALAG) for barangay officials in the province of Cavite.

A total of 32 elected barangay officials participated in the orientation program, which aims to enhance their leadership skills and promote effective governance practices.

The program will equip them with essential knowledge in public management, the barangay justice system, ethical and strategic leadership, and sustainable public governance.

The BALAG program features 22 volunteer instructors from DLSU Dasma, the Civil Service Commission, and DILG IV-A.

These experts will lead various executive courses, ensuring that participants gain practical insights and tools to govern their barangays efficiently and responsibly.

The inaugural BALAG class is scheduled to begin on May 25, 2024 (Saturday) and will run for 16 weeks.

This initiative represents a significant step toward better governance and community development in the region.
