Major Drug Bust in Kawit, Cavite: Police Intensify Crackdown on Illegal Substances

A significant arrest has been made in Kawit, Cavite, as part of an intensified crackdown on drug-related crime.

The suspect, known locally as “Benet”, was apprehended for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165.

The arrest was the result of a meticulously planned operation by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the Kawit Municipal Police Station.

The operation, which took place at around 9:00 PM on 19 April 2024, was conducted under the direct supervision of PLTCOL Richard D Corpuz, Chief of Police, in coordination with the PDEA-4A.

The operation was executed in Brgy. Toclong, Kawit, Cavite, leading to the arrest of “Benet”, a resident of Brgy Aplaya, Kawit, Cavite.

The suspect was caught in the act of selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a substance suspected to be “Shabu”.

Upon arrest, the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language he best understood. He was then taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for further documentation and appropriate processing.

The Kawit Municipal Police Station has pledged to continue its relentless campaign against all forms of criminality. This recent success serves as a stern warning to the public about the consequences of engaging in illegal drug activities.
