In a significant blow to the local drug trade, Kawit Municipal Police Station, under the direct supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D Corpuz, has arrested a suspected drug dealer known as “Edward”. The arrest took place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at around 7:15 PM in Brgy. Samala-Marquez, Kawit, Cavite.

The operation was part of an intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, with a particular focus on drug-related crimes. The arrest was the result of a coordinated anti-illegal drug operation, commonly known as a ‘buy-bust’, conducted by the Drugs Enforcement Unit/Intel Operatives of the station in coordination with the PDEA-4A.

Edward, a resident of Brgy Samala-Marquez, was apprehended after selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a substance suspected to be “Shabu”, a local term for methamphetamine. Following his arrest, Edward was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language he best understood.

He was then taken to Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further proceedings. The arrest serves as a stern warning to the public about the consequences of engaging in illegal drug activities.

The Kawit Municipal Police Station has pledged to continue its relentless campaign against all forms of criminality, aiming to prevent, if not eradicate, crime from the community altogether.
