As part of the Leprosy Control Week, the Office of the Provincial Health Officer (OPHO) in collaboration with the Department of Health IV-A and the Dasmariñas City Health Office (CHO) conducted a free skin disease consultation on February 27, 2024 in Barangay Sampaloc 4, Dasmariñas City.

The event aimed to combat the stigma surrounding leprosy and raise awareness about various skin diseases among the residents. More than 100 individuals availed of the service and received information, diagnosis, and treatment from the health authorities. Prescription medicines and ointments were also distributed for free.

The OPHO and CHO continue to implement education, advocacy, and community engagement programs to prevent and control leprosy and other skin diseases. They also call for the cooperation and support of other government agencies, healthcare professionals, civil society organizations, and affected communities in this endeavor.
