The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a successful operation against a drug den in Barangay Molino II, Bacoor, Cavite last night.

Six people were arrested, including the owner of the house who was the source of the illegal drugs.

According to PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo, they had been monitoring the drug den for a long time, which was known in the area as a “shabu tiangge”.

One of the suspects was the target of their buy bust operation, but they did not expect to encounter the other users and sellers of shabu.

The operatives seized four packets of shabu weighing 12 grams and with a street value of P81,600. In addition, they also confiscated P500 in marked money, syringes, lighters, aluminum foil, and cellphones used for transactions.

The six suspects are currently detained at the PDEA detention facility, while they will face charges of violating Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 6 (maintenance of a den), Section 7 (employees and visitors of a den), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
