KAWIT, Cavite — Construction has begun on a temporary bypass drainage system running from Imus to Kawit, aimed at reducing the volume of water flowing through Kalye Onse and Tramo-Marulas.
The temporary bypass canal is expected to speed the discharge of rainwater from Imus and Kawit into the river, helping ease flooding in affected areas.
Local officials said efforts are continuing to gradually address the flooding problem in Kawit.
