Cavite Continues to Lead in Affordable Housing Program

IMUS, Cavite — Cavite province is reinforcing its role in the push for affordable housing after a topping-off ceremony for the first building of the Avesta Residences project in this city.

Tower 1 is the first of five residential towers in the housing project developed by PH1 World Developers, the property development arm of Megawide Construction Corp. It is part of the government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino, or 4PH Program, which aims to reduce the country’s housing backlog of millions of units.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon “Ping” Aliling, Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta, PH1 World Developers President Gigi Alcantara and Megawide Chairman Edgar Saavedra attended the ceremony.

Aliling said housing projects in Cavite are significant because they are part of a complete planned community with schools, a hospital, sports facilities, a church, a city hall and livelihood opportunities for future residents.

Tower 1 has a total of 220 residential units, each measuring 27 square meters. Each unit costs about ₱1.8 million and can be purchased through a Pag-IBIG Fund housing loan.

Saavedra said the project aims to give more Caviteños and other Filipinos, including government employees, teachers, police officers and other workers, their own homes. He said payment options start at more than ₱3,000 a month under a graduated amortization program.

The project uses precast concrete technology to speed up construction while maintaining building quality.

Avesta Residences is part of Megawide’s ₱180 billion housing program, which aims to build 100,000 housing units under the 4PH Program.

The entire Avesta Residences development in Imus is expected to be completed and turned over to the government before the end of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s term in 2028, offering a new opportunity for families seeking affordable housing in the province.
