SILANG, Cavite — A night of drinking ended in bloodshed early Tuesday after a man stabbed another inside a bar in Barangay San Vicente 2, leaving the victim in critical condition, police said.
The stabbing occurred at around 12:45 a.m. inside Mommy M’s Resto & Bar, where the suspect, identified only as alias “Matt,” and the victim, alias “Jon,” were both drinking when an argument broke out between them.
The quarrel escalated into a fistfight before the suspect allegedly drew a bladed weapon and stabbed Jon multiple times in different parts of the body.
Companions of the victim immediately rushed him to Silang Specialist Medical Center, where he remains under treatment.
The bar owner alerted police, who responded quickly and arrested the suspect at the scene. Authorities also recovered the bladed weapon used in the attack.
The suspect was taken to Ospital ng Tagaytay for medical and physical examination before being placed in police custody.
The victim’s family has been notified, and charges are being prepared for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
Investigators said they are looking into the possibility that other individuals may have been involved in the incident. The case remains under investigation.
