GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite — The Tau Gamma Phi Global Cavite Provincial Grand Council condemned a recent hazing incident in General Trias, reaffirming its opposition to all forms of violence committed in the name of fraternity initiation or organizational tradition.
In an official statement, the council said such acts violate the values of respect, discipline, and brotherhood the organization upholds.
“We unequivocally denounce hazing in any form and stand firm against all acts of violence committed in the name of fraternity, initiation, or organizational tradition throughout Philippines,” the statement read.
The council said it fully supports Republic Act No. 11053, or the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018, and called on all members, chapters, institutions, and organizations to comply with legal standards and actively work toward the eradication of hazing nationwide.
It also urged the strict and consistent implementation of anti-hazing laws and policies at all levels.
Provincial Grand Triskelion Kenneth Rua signed the statement, closing with the organization’s motto: Primum nil nocere — first of all, do not harm.
