NAIC, Cavite — A man held a woman hostage inside a residential home for nearly three hours before police arrested him late Monday night following tense negotiations, authorities said.
Officers from the Naic Municipal Police Station received a report at approximately 9 p.m. of a hostage situation at a residence in Barangay Malainen-Bago, known locally as the Balai White House.
The suspect, identified only by his alias Noe, allegedly forced his way into the victim’s home and declared a hostage situation. Authorities said he bound the woman and confined her to a corner of the house while locking all entry and exit points, including the front and back doors.
Police said the suspect threatened to harm the victim if his girlfriend, whom he had summoned to the scene, did not arrive.
The incident sparked fear among residents in the surrounding area, particularly those in neighboring homes.
Initial negotiations by responding officers failed to de-escalate the situation, prompting authorities to call for additional personnel. After sustained coordination and continued negotiations, police decided to enter through the rear of the property to resolve the standoff.
Authorities said the operation was carried out under a policy of maximum tolerance.
The suspect was successfully subdued and arrested at approximately 11:48 p.m. The hostage was rescued unharmed and immediately placed in protective custody.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Naic Municipal Police Station pending documentation, booking procedures, and the filing of appropriate charges.
