KAWIT, Cavite — Police arrested a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Magdalo Putol on Tuesday night, authorities said Wednesday.
Officers from the Kawit Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 4-A arrested the suspect, identified only as “Dol,” around 10:30 p.m. Feb. 11, according to Police Lt. Col. Kristine V. Paras, the station’s officer-in-charge.
The suspect allegedly sold a small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine, known locally as shabu, to an undercover officer.
Authorities filed charges against the suspect for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Section 5 covers the sale of illegal drugs, while Section 11 addresses possession.
The Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Operatives conducted the operation under Paras’ supervision.
The arrest is part of the Philippine National Police’s campaign against illegal drugs, loose firearms and terrorism under its seven-point agenda.
