GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite — Construction continues on SM City General Trias, the eighth SM mall in Cavite Province, with completion targeted for 2026-2027.
The 11-hectare development in the Riverpark North district broke ground June 14, 2024, in a ceremony led by SM Supermalls President Steven Tan and General Trias Mayor Luis Ferrer IV.
The mall will feature 67,982 square meters of gross floor area, with shopping, dining and entertainment spaces, a transport terminal and 1,115 parking slots. Developers have planned for future expansion.
Full-scale construction began in early 2025, with recent updates showing structural work advancing on schedule. The phased development spans three to four years from groundbreaking.
The project sits within the 600-hectare Riverpark township, a joint venture involving Federal Land and SM Prime Holdings. The master-planned community integrates residential, commercial and green spaces.
The mall’s location offers access to the Cavite-Laguna Expressway Open Canal Interchange and planned road networks. It stands near existing developments including Lancaster New City.
Officials say the development will boost employment and economic growth in General Trias, a growing industrial and residential center in Cavite. The broader Riverpark township includes parks, bike trails and Japanese-inspired gardens alongside commercial areas.
The project is expected to serve as a regional hub for the SM District of Riverpark North when complete.
