The city government distributed food boxes Monday to families displaced by recent fires in two neighborhoods.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A, led the distribution to ensure affected residents have sufficient food in evacuation centers.
Officials said 88 families, or 298 people, from Sitio Bulate in Barangay Dulong Bayan, and one family of three from Camella East in Barangay San Nicolas 2, received aid. Each food box contained 6 kilograms of rice, 10 cans of assorted goods and 10 sachets of drink mix or soup.
DSWD Region IV-A representatives Marlden Tongson and Ric Vertudez, along with personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office, attended the Dec. 15 distribution.
The city government said the effort is part of broader relief work that has included hot meals, hygiene kits, clothing, kitchen sets and sleeping kits for displaced residents.
Officials said relief operations will continue as monitoring and verification efforts are ongoing in the affected communities.
