Dasmariñas City, Cavite – A man was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman riding a motorcycle while he was buying fish at a roadside stall along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Barangay Salawag on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
CCTV footage showed the suspect passing by the fish stall on his motorcycle, making a U-turn, and then firing multiple times at the victim at close range. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the head and body and was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
A second customer, standing nearby, was hit in the right leg by a stray bullet. He managed to run a short distance before collapsing and is now recovering in hospital in stable condition.
Police are reviewing additional surveillance footage to track the gunman’s movements. The suspect remains at large, and the motive for the killing has not yet been determined. The victim’s identity is being withheld until his family has been notified.
The Dasmariñas City Police Station is conducting follow-up operations and has appealed to the public for any information that could help identify and locate the perpetrator.
