Infrastructure firm Megawide Construction Corp. has secured a P1.2-billion contract to develop the Baguio City Integrated Transport Terminal, bolstering its landport portfolio that includes a major facility in Carmona, Cavite, and the province’s planned bus rapid transit system.

The award solidifies Megawide’s position as the official Private Sector Proponent for the project, the company said, expanding its growing network of transport infrastructure.

The Baguio terminal joins Megawide’s existing transit developments: the operational Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the South Luzon Integrated Terminal Exchange (SLITX) under construction in Carmona, Cavite, and its role in the Cavite Bus Rapid Transit system.

Megawide president Jaime Feliciano said the combined landport facilities could generate up to P400 million in recurring annual revenue once fully operational.

The SLITX project in Carmona is designed to serve as a major southern gateway for Metro Manila, consolidating bus terminals for southern Luzon provinces. The Cavite Bus Rapid Transit system aims to provide mass transport solutions for the rapidly urbanizing province.

The expansion comes as Megawide, backed by businessman Edgar “Injap” Sia II’s Saavedra Holdings, positions itself as a key player in the Philippines’ transport infrastructure development.
