NAIC, Cavite — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Thursday led the distribution of food packs to around 6,000 families affected by recent storms and southwest monsoon rains in this coastal town.
Remulla was joined by officials from the provincial government of Cavite and the municipal government of Naic during the relief operations.
The food assistance was part of the government’s ongoing response to communities hit by heavy rains and flooding caused by the combined effects of a tropical cyclone and the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat.”
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), facilitated the distribution.
Residents expressed gratitude for the aid, which included rice, canned goods, and other essential supplies.
The Cavite Provincial Police Office provided photos of the activity on social media.
