CAVITE — Four people, including two children, died after being swept away by flash floods in separate incidents across Cavite province during heavy rains on June 23 and 24, local authorities said.
The fatalities were identified as Prince, a 10-year-old student from Barangay Sampaloc 4 in Dasmariñas City; Mohamad, a 5-year-old from Imus; Jesus San Luis, 76, also from Dasmariñas; and an unidentified 29-year-old man from Kawit.
Prince was found lifeless in Barangay Datu Esmael after being carried away by an overflowing creek while playing. Mohamad was recovered from Anabu Dam in Imus after being swept downstream from Bacao Creek.
San Luis reportedly fell from a bridge in Barangay Sabang and was found dead in a nearby creek the following day. The 29-year-old man’s body was retrieved in Barangay Gahak, Kawit, following a search and retrieval operation.
