CAVITE, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in CALABARZON and across the country are set to receive a ₱200 daily pay increase after the House of Representatives approved House Bill No. 11376, a measure aimed at uplifting the welfare of private sector workers.

Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla, who authored the bill, announced the approval with pride, highlighting his long-standing advocacy for labor rights that began during his term as Cavite’s vice governor.

“This is a victory not only for CALABARZON workers but for all Filipino laborers who have long waited for meaningful wage reform,” Revilla said in a statement. “It’s been over 30 years since the last legislated wage hike.”

According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) as of June 2025, the current minimum wage rates in CALABARZON range from ₱425 to ₱560 per day. The ₱200 increase would apply across all regions, significantly impacting household incomes amid rising living costs.

Wage rates in other regions include: NCR (₱608–₱645), Central Luzon (₱435–₱550), and Davao Region (₱505–₱510), among others. The lowest minimum wage remains in BARMM at ₱316–₱361.

Revilla credited House Speaker Martin Romualdez and fellow lawmakers for their support, adding that the fight for better labor conditions is far from over. He urged continued vigilance until the bill is signed into law by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“This step reflects our commitment to a stronger, more inclusive economy where workers are not left behind,” he said.

The bill is expected to move next to the Senate for deliberation.
