The historic Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, was the venue of a solemn tribute to Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, one of the Philippines’ most illustrious leaders, on his 60th Death Anniversary on February 6, 2024.
The event, attended by esteemed guests and representatives from various sectors, started with a Holy Mass officiated by Reverend Father Efren Bugayong, parish priest of St. Mary Magdalene Church. The Philippine Navy, along with the Naval Base Cavite Band and the Kawit Police Force/Cavite Tourist Police Unit, then hoisted the Philippine Flag, a symbol of unity and patriotism.
Wreaths and flowers were laid and offered at the tomb of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, who fought for the independence of the Philippines from Spain and the United States and became the first president of the Philippine Republic and the Philippine Revolutionary Army. Reverend Father Efren Bugayong blessed the tomb, symbolizing the eternal honor bestowed upon Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo’s legacy.
Among the attendees were Ms. Rozelle Sangalang, Provincial Tourism Officer and representative of Cavite Provincial Governor Jonvic Remulla, local leaders from the Municipal Government of Kawit, members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Navy, Department of Education, Kawit Association of Barangay Captains and SK Federation, and the esteemed family of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo headed by Ms. Emilie A. Pulido.
