A man wanted for murder in Manila was arrested in Cavite province on this week ending a two-year manhunt.
The suspect, alias “Balat”, a criminology graduate and the top most wanted person in the Manila Police District, was apprehended in Bacoor City, Cavite.
According to the Manila Police District, the suspect allegedly killed a man with a pipe in April 2022 after a confrontation outside his house.
The victim was reportedly loitering outside the suspect’s residence when he was asked to leave, leading to a fight that ended in the victim’s death.
The police tracked down the suspect to Barangay Molino 3 in Bacoor City, Cavite.
The suspect claimed he acted in self-defense, saying he caught the victim using illegal drugs outside their house and that the victim pulled out a knife when confronted.
The suspect was taken into custody by the Manila Police District.
