A town in Cavite province has been declared “stable” in terms of internal peace and security, following a ceremony marking a partnership between the local government and the military.
The Municipality of Mendez-Nunez became the ninth local government unit (LGU) to receive the designation, known as Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS).
The declaration was made during a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the municipality and the 202nd Infantry Brigade, represented by Major Michael O Malacad.
The SIPS designation is seen as a significant achievement for the municipality, which has been working to improve peace and security in the area.
The partnership between the local government and the military is aimed at promoting stability and security in the region, and is part of a broader effort to improve governance and development in the Philippines.
The declaration is also seen as a positive step towards achieving the goals of the Philippine government’s peace and security agenda.
