TERNATE, Cavite: Youth in Ternate, Cavite province, have launched an initiative to combat the recent oil spill affecting the region.
The Crusher Youth Club is collecting plastic bottles to create improvised booms, aiming to contain the spread of oil along Cavite’s coastal areas.
The oil leaked from the fuel tanker MT Terra Nova is now spreading from Bataan to Manila Bay, to Bulacan, and now Cavite.
Club president Russ Symon Llanes is urging fellow Caviteños, especially young people, to join the effort.
The initiative seeks to protect both residents and the province’s environment.
