Naic and General Trias Included in MPTC’s New Toll Road Plan

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) has incorporated Naic and General Trias (GenTri) into the design of a new 25-kilometer toll road project.

The road will connect the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge to the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), significantly reducing travel time for motorists moving between the northern and southern regions of Luzon.

Raul Ignacio, President and General Manager of MPTC’s subsidiary Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), confirmed that they are currently in talks with the Cavite Provincial Government regarding the implementation of this expressway project.

The new toll road will complement the 32-kilometer Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge, which is expected to dramatically cut travel time between Cavite and Bataan provinces from the current 5.5 hours to just 45 minutes.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation is one of the largest toll road developers and operators in the Philippines.

It is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), which is part of the Hong Kong-based First Pacific Company Limited.

The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is a flagship infrastructure project under the Philippine government’s “Build, Build, Build” program. The bridge will span Manila Bay, connecting the provinces of Bataan and Cavite.

The new toll road and bridge projects are expected to boost economic activity in the regions they connect by improving logistics and reducing transportation costs.

Population data: As of the 2020 census, Cavite province had a population of 4,344,829, while Bataan had 853,373 residents. Improved connectivity between these provinces could lead to increased economic opportunities and potentially affect population distribution in the long term.

Future development: The inclusion of Naic and General Trias in the toll road plan suggests potential for future urban and industrial development in these areas, as improved accessibility often leads to increased investment and growth.
