In a dramatic sting operation, authorities in Bacoor City, Cavite, have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly trafficking substantial quantities of illegal narcotics. The suspect, who operated under the guise of a cellphone accessory vendor, was caught red-handed in the parking lot of a local mall.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 1 spearheaded the operation, which led to the seizure of around 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu, and 503 blue tablets believed to be ecstasy, with an estimated street value of nearly 1.2 million pesos.

The suspect, identified only by his alias ‘Haron,’ is a resident of Barangay Balibago in Angeles City, Pampanga. He reportedly traveled to Cavite to deliver the drugs to a buyer who turned out to be an undercover agent.

During the operation, officials also recovered marked money and the suspect’s identification card. In a candid admission to Cavite Media, ‘Haron’ revealed that the drugs were supplied by an unidentified “Boss” for delivery.

The suspect is now facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and is expected to undergo inquest proceedings. This arrest marks a significant victory for the PDEA in their ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade in the Philippines.
