CAVITE — Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga is leading an informal online poll asking Caviteños who they want as the province’s next governor, according to results posted by the Facebook page Basta Cavite.
The poll, which asked followers to react to their preferred candidate, listed four contenders: incumbent Gov. Abeng Remulla, Philippine Olympic Committee Chairman Bambol Tolentino, Barzaga, and Rep. Jolo Revilla.
Barzaga, who currently serves as an incumbent congressman, drew the most responses among the four candidates.
Remulla, who currently holds the governor’s post, was also among the top contenders in the poll.
Tolentino, a prominent sports official, and Revilla, also an incumbent congressman, rounded out the list.
The 2028 elections are expected to bring a competitive race for the Cavite gubernatorial post, with several well-known political figures already generating buzz over the province’s top position.
