The suspect in a deadly road rage shooting in DasmariƱas, Cavite on August 27, 2025 has surrendered to authorities, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced Monday.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla presented the suspect, Jeffrey Alindog, 44, during a press conference at Camp Crame. Alindog, a DasmariƱas resident, was identified through CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts.
“This is a crime-solved situation,” Remulla said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between local government and the Philippine National Police (PNP). “When we work together, we can solve many problems.”
CCTV footage showed a red Toyota Corolla, allegedly driven by Alindog, closely trailing a company vehicle driven by Mayo Jonel Santos, a Meralco employee, along Jose Abad Santos Avenue. Moments later, the driver of the Corolla shot Santos in the head before fleeing.
Santos was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. Alindog, now in PNP custody, faces murder charges.
Remulla urged local governments and barangays to strengthen ties with the PNP and other law enforcement agencies, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for a whole-of-government approach to peace, justice, and public safety.
