A woman was arrested while her live-in partner escaped after a buy-bust operation turned into a shootout early Friday in Barangay Victoria Reyes, Dasmariñas City, police said.
Authorities identified the suspect as “Ann Boxer,” of legal age, who was left behind by her partner, known only as “Jun,” when he fled on a motorcycle during the operation. Both are residents of the area.
According to a police report, the operation was carried out at around 4:45 a.m. by the Dasmariñas City Drug Enforcement Unit. The suspects arrived on a motorcycle and transacted with an undercover officer posing as a buyer.
Sensing the entrapment, Jun allegedly sped off to evade arrest, prompting a chase. Police said the suspect fired shots while fleeing, abandoned the motorcycle, and managed to escape with the buy-bust money.
Boxer, who was riding as a passenger, was arrested at the scene. Seized from her were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 1.62 grams with an estimated street value of P11,016.
Investigators also recovered a spent .45-caliber cartridge and the suspects’ maroon-and-black Honda Beat motorcycle with conduction sticker 0401-0552441.
Police said pursuit operations are ongoing against Jun.
