NAIC, Cavite — Police arrested a 37-year-old man after he staged a prank video that appeared to show him attempting to kill his minor child with a bolo, authorities said.
The suspect, identified only as Ron, a resident of Ciudad Nuevo in Barangay Sabang, was taken into custody Tuesday inside their subdivision, Naic police chief Col. Ferdinand B. Ancheta said.
Police responded to a 911 call from concerned neighbors reporting a commotion between the father and his child.
Responding officers found the man allegedly armed with a bolo and appearing to attack the child, prompting his arrest.
The suspect later told police the incident was part of a prank video meant to go viral on his social media account.
The child confirmed in an interview with the women’s desk that the act was staged.
Despite their claims, police said the man will face multiple charges for causing alarm and public disturbance among residents.
