Kawit, Cavite – Philippine police arrested a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation in Kawit town, Cavite province.
The operation, carried out on July 16, 2025 at around 1:45 pm in Barangay Tabon I, resulted in the arrest of a man known only by the alias “Jun,” police said. The suspect allegedly sold a small sachet of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, to an undercover officer.
Captain Ernesto Monasterial II of the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit led the operation, under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Resty Soriano, and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional office.
“The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and brought to the police station for documentation and disposition,” the police statement said.
The arrest is part of an ongoing campaign against illegal drugs in the area. “This accomplishment gives a stern warning to the public to refrain from engaging in illegal drugs,” police added.
Although the volume of drugs seized was small, local authorities said the operation reflects their continued enforcement efforts following the broader nationwide crackdown on narcotics that began under former President Rodrigo Duterte.
