Kawit, Cavite — A suspected shabu peddler was arrested in an early morning buy-bust operation on July 2, 2025 in Barangay Tramo Bantayan, the Kawit Municipal Police Station said Friday.
In a press release, police identified the suspect only by the alias “Gio,” a resident of Barangay Manggahan Lawin. He was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative around 3:30 a.m.
The operation was carried out by the station’s Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Unit, led by PCpt. Ernesto G. Monasterial II and supervised by PLtCol. Resty E. Soriano, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region IV-A.
Authorities said the suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood and was taken to the Kawit police station for documentation and proper disposition.
Police said the arrest underscores their continued campaign against illegal drugs and serves as a warning to others involved in the narcotics trade.
“The Kawit police will remain relentless in its anti-criminality efforts to rid Kawit of illegal drug activities,” Soriano said in the statement.
