A missing person from Taguig City was found dead in an advanced state of decomposition in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa, Naic, Cavite, around 1:20 p.m. on June 21, authorities said.

The body was discovered on the fourth day of coordinated search operations and CCTV backtracking by a joint team composed of multiple regional intelligence units, local police, barangay officials, and the victim’s family.

Investigators at the scene recovered a plastic bottle labeled “Drain Clog Free,” a chemical substance typically used to dissolve organic matter. The victim’s personal belongings, including a cellphone and items inside a backpack, were found intact.

The body was positively identified by the victim’s father based on the clothing and belongings recovered. The individual was earlier reported missing in Taguig City on June 8 and officially reported to police on June 15.

A full investigation into the cause of death is now underway, led by the Cavite Forensic Unit and the assigned case investigator. The remains were transferred to Imperial Funeral Homes in Barangay San Agustin, Trece Martires, for autopsy and DNA testing. All recovered personal items have been turned over to the victim’s family.
