DILG Sec. Remulla Offers Courtesy Resignation Following Marcos’ Call for Cabinet Shake-up

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, former governor of Cavite, on Thursday announced he will tender his courtesy resignation, in response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for all Cabinet secretaries to step down.

Remulla said he is prepared to comply with the President’s directive, which aims to reorganize and strengthen the administration following the recent midterm elections.

“This is part of the President’s efforts to revamp the Cabinet and ensure its continued effectiveness,” Remulla said in a statement.

The move comes as the Marcos administration reevaluates its Cabinet lineup after securing limited success in the Senate during the midterms. The broader shake-up is seen as a performance review of key officials heading into the second half of Marcos’ term.
