Cavite-Laguna Expressway Construction Advancing

Silang, Cavite – The Philippines’ Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is advancing with the construction of Subsection 3, linking the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to the Governor’s Drive Interchange, officials said Tuesday.

Upon completion, this segment will be the longest operational stretch of CALAX, enhancing connectivity between Cavite and Laguna provinces south of Manila.

The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange, a key entry point to Cavite, is set to alleviate chronic traffic congestion along Aguinaldo Highway, a major artery for commuters heading to the tourist hub of Tagaytay and surrounding areas. The project is part of the broader CALAX initiative, a 45-kilometer toll road designed to streamline travel across southern Luzon.

Authorities anticipate the new section will slash travel times, spur economic activity, and bolster Cavite’s position as a commercial and industrial hub. The expressway aligns with the government’s infrastructure push under the “Build, Better, More” program, aimed at modernizing transport networks to support the Philippines’ growing economy.

CALAX, developed by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, is expected to be fully operational by 2027, transforming mobility and trade in one of the country’s fastest-growing regions.
