The Province of Cavite is showing no signs of slowing down as it continues its ascent as one of the country’s fastest-growing local economies, with several cities and municipalities posting significant income gains from 2023 to 2024.
According to data released by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), Cavite’s total current operating income growth reflects a strong economic pulse across its local government units (LGUs).
Carmona City emerged as the top-performing LGU, with an exceptional growth rate of 35.58%, increasing its income from over P1.3 billion in 2023 to nearly P1.8 billion in 2024.
Other notable gainers include Amadeo and Kawit, with income growth rates of 20.96% and 20.47% respectively.
Tagaytay City also posted a solid increase of 14.54%, followed by Magallanes (11.58%), Silang (11.20%), and Trece Martires City (10.45%).
In contrast, General Trias City recorded a slight decline of -1.70%, while Rosario barely held steady with a 0.12% increase. Data for Mendez and Noveleta remain unavailable as of this report.
The latest figures reinforce Cavite’s position as a magnet for investment and development, buoyed by rapid urbanization, ongoing infrastructure projects, and its close proximity to Metro Manila.
The provincial government attributes the positive trajectory to sound fiscal management, collaborative leadership, and sustained efforts to enhance public services and economic resilience.
As the province moves forward, local officials emphasize the importance of inclusive growth to ensure all Caviteños benefit from the economic gains.
