TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Cavite distributed 72,000 tilapia fingerlings to 25 upland aquaculture cooperators on March 7, 2025 aiming to enhance food security and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities in the province.
The program, led by OPA Officer-in-Charge Engr. Anna Pamela G. Nova and Fisheries Extension Section head Edrich H. Caparas, took place at the OPA Administrative Lobby.
Beneficiaries also received training on tilapia culture and stocking techniques from fisheries expert Sheryl P. Luna to improve their fish farming practices.
The distribution program is part of Cavite’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its aquaculture sector, providing farmers with additional income sources while contributing to the province’s food production.
