Kawit, Cavite – Police authorities on Tuesday arrested a suspect in a buy-bust operation in Kawit, Cavite province, as part of a crackdown on illicit drugs.
The suspect, identified as “Boy Tanso”, was apprehended on November 5 at around 6:30 pm in Barangay Balsahan-Bisita, Kawit, after selling a small sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) to undercover agents.
The operation was conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and was taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further investigation.
The arrest is part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) ongoing campaign against all forms of criminality, particularly the illicit drug trade.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts to prevent and eradicate crimes in Kawit town,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Socrates S. Jaca, Officer-in-Charge of the Kawit Municipal Police Station.
The PNP has been conducting a series of anti-drug operations in Kawit where there is massive proliferation of shabu.
