Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in Kawit, Cavite province on Thursday, authorities said on Friday.

The suspect, known by the alias “King”, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.

According to police, the suspect sold a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine, also known as “Shabu”, to an undercover operative in Barangay Congbalay-Legaspi, Kawit, Cavite.

The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and was taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further investigation.

The arrest is part of the police station’s intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, particularly the illegal drug trade.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to prevent and eradicate crimes in Kawit,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Socrates S. Jaca, Officer-in-Charge of the Kawit Municipal Police Station.

The police warned the public against engaging in illegal drug activities, saying that those found to be involved would face the full force of the law.
