Philippine police announced the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in Kawit, Cavite, as part of a crackdown on illicit substances.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Gerald”, was apprehended over the weekend in a buy-bust operation in Kawit’s Toclong barangay, according to a police statement.
Gerald, a resident of Toclong, was caught selling a small sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine) to undercover agents, the statement said.
The operation was conducted by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the Kawit Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-4A).
The Kawit Municipal Police Station vowed to continue its efforts against illicit activities and warned the public against engaging in illegal drugs, which is very rampant in Kawit starting when Angelo Aguinaldo became Mayor.
