The Department of Health’s Center for Health Development in CALABARZON has announced that the region’s first confirmed MPOX patient has recovered.

According to the health department, the 12-year-old male patient was given clearance on September 13, 2024 after undergoing home isolation and monitoring.

The patient initially tested positive for the MPOX virus in August after experiencing symptoms such as fever and rashes on the body. He had no travel history three weeks prior to the onset of symptoms.

Despite the recovery, DOH continues to remind the public to remain vigilant against the MPOX virus.
