A gigantic infrastructure project is underway in Cavite, with the CALAX subsection 1, also known as the Kawit interchange, expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025.
This 8.68-kilometer stretch will connect the open canal area in Imus to the Antero Soriano highway in Kawit, Cavite, improving the province’s connectivity and economic growth.
Currently, the project is 26% complete, with 77% of the right-of-way (ROW) acquired.
The Kawit interchange will end at the Evo City development by Ayala, a major mixed-use project, and will also connect to the Antero Soriano highway.
In the Toclong area of Kawit, a series of viaducts spanning at least 700 meters will be constructed to link this section to the Cavitex, which is also currently under construction.
With its strategic location and modern infrastructure, the Kawit interchange is poised to become a major transportation hub in Cavite.
Once finished, the subsection will feature notable landmarks along its route, including the new city hall of Imus, The MPT Southhub, and the historic Alapan Heritage Park.
