Philippine authorities have arrested 29 individuals, including five foreigners and 24 locals, in connection with various online scams in Kawit, Cavite, the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) Cybercrime Division said.
The suspects, linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), were allegedly involved in a range of scams, including romance scams, investment scams, cryptocurrency scams, impersonation scams, and identity theft, according to reports.
The arrests were made in a joint operation by the NBI and local law enforcement.
