Dasmariñas, Cavite – Philippine police seized an estimated PhP2.1 million pesos worth of suspected marijuana in a drug bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite province, authorities said Saturday.
A 35-year-old suspect, identified only as “Bob,” was arrested on July 19 during a joint operation by local and regional anti-narcotics units in Barangay Victoria Reyes, according to Cavite police chief Colonel Eleuterio Ricardo Jr.
Approximately 6,020 grams of dried marijuana leaves were confiscated during the operation, which was conducted based on intelligence reports received by law enforcement.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Dasmariñas City police station and faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165). The seized drugs have been sent to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, regional director of the CALABARZON police, praised the Cavite police force for their intensified efforts against illegal drugs.
The operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s ongoing campaign against drug trafficking in the province, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.
