In a significant blow to the local drug trade, police in Bacoor City, Cavite, seized approximately P340,000 worth of methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” in an early morning raid on Sunday. The operation also resulted in the arrest of two suspects, including a high-value individual, according to local authorities.

The Bacoor Component City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team executed the buy-bust operation around 5 AM in Barangay Zapote 2, culminating months of intelligence gathering. Police Chief Brigadier General Paul Kenneth T. Lucas confirmed that the suspects, identified only by their aliases “YUKI” and “AKI,” are both unemployed residents of nearby Las Piรฑas, Manila.

Intel reports indicated that supply of shabu is coming from Kawit, Cavite. Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo has not reacted on the report.

“This operation strikes at the heart of drug distribution networks in our region,” Lucas told told media. “It’s a testament to the tireless efforts of our law enforcement agencies in making our communities safer.”

The confiscated drugs, weighing approximately 50 grams, were found in three heat-sealed plastic sachets. Authorities also recovered marked money used in the sting operation.

This bust is part of an intensified anti-drug campaign in the CALABARZON region, with Lucas vowing to continue efforts until the area is “drug-free.”

The suspects are currently held at the Bacoor City Custodial Center awaiting formal charges. They face potential violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which could carry severe penalties if convicted.
