BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Philippine authorities seized approximately 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” valued at P3.4 million pesos (during a drug operation in Bacoor City, Cavite province, on Tuesday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A conducted a joint buy-bust operation at a mall parking lot in Barangay Habay 2, resulting in the arrest of two suspects identified as Jamil Cando, alias Datu, and Badron Busran.
The operation, carried out by PDEA’s Special Enforcement Teams 1 and 2, took place at approximately 1:45 p.m. local time.
Authorities said the suspects will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Philippines continues to grapple with widespread drug trafficking and abuse, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration maintaining a hardline stance on narcotics.
