IMUS, Cavite — The Philippine Red Cross received a P60 million peso donation from the Okada Foundation to fund a new blood center in Cavite province, the organization said Monday.
The donation will finance construction of the Red Cross Cavite Chapter’s new building in the Vermosa complex in Imus, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Manila.
The 859-square-meter (9,245-square-foot) property was donated by Ayala Land Inc.
The facility will serve as the primary blood center in Cavite, offering blood collection, testing and processing. It will also provide 24/7 emergency services, first aid training, and disaster management services.
Red Cross officials said the center will support education and training for medical professionals in transfusion medicine.
