President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has enacted two laws on June 13, 2024, to establish new educational institutions in Bacoor City, Cavite.

Republic Act No. 12007 will introduce the Progressive Senior High School in Progressive Village 3, Brgy. Bayanan, and Republic Act No. 12008 will create the Progressive Elementary School in Brgy. Molino 2.

Both schools will fall under the Department of Education’s jurisdiction, with Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte tasked with ensuring their operationalization and developing implementing rules within 90 days of the laws’ approval.

The regulations will outline the schools’ structure and management in line with existing education legislation.

The laws are set to be effective 15 days following publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper with wide circulation.
