KAWIT, Cavite — A suspected drug dealer was arrested in Kawit, Cavite, following a buy-bust operation conducted by local police and anti-narcotics agents, authorities said Saturday.
The Kawit Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of Police Lt. Col. Richard D. Corpuz and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region IV-A (PDEA-4A), carried out the sting operation over the weekend at around 8:20 p.m. in Barangay Toclong.
The suspect, known only as “Long,” allegedly sold a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” along with gambling paraphernalia.
Following his arrest, “Long” was informed of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language he understood and was taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further legal action.
The police station reaffirmed its commitment to an intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs, warning the public against involvement in such activities.
