KAWIT, Cavite – A local resident, known as “Ryan”, was arrested on Monday for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165, as part of an intensified campaign against criminality by the Kawit Municipal Police Station, according to a statement from the police chief, PLTCOL Richard D Corpuz.

The arrest was made at 3:20 PM in Brgy. Tabon 2, Kawit, Cavite, during a coordinated anti-illegal drug operation by the Drugs Enforcement Unit/Intel Operatives of the station and the PDEA-4A. Ryan, a resident of Brgy Tabon 1, was apprehended after selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected to contain Marijuana.

Ryan was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language he understood and was then taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further proceedings.

The police station will continue its efforts against all forms of criminality, the statement added, warning the public to refrain from engaging in illegal drugs.
